Antigone does not have a clear anagnorisis. She knew what she wanted from the beginning which was to honor Polynices by burying him. She wanted Polynices to be INTERRED like Eteocles. Even though she knew the punishment of death for burying Polynices, she did not care. She said, “There is no punishment can rob me of my honourable death” (Sophocles 129). Ismene did not want to take part in Antigone’s actions because she was scared of what would happen and she followed the rules of the State. Antigone and Ismene did not see eye to eye. Antigone wanted to do the right thing instead of what she was being told. Creon’s anagnorisis happened when he realized that everything that had happened was because of his stubborn will. He realized that he was the one instigated his son’s and wife’s death. Oedipus’s anagnorisis was when he realized that he had been sleeping with his mom and that he killed his father.
